Research Area

The research area was created to debate the situation of women in the contemporary socio-political context, particularly in relation to sexuality and reproduction.

This area also consider as necessary to generate material for discussion on the complex relationships between religion and sexuality from a gender perspective.

Its lines of inquiry respond to the needs to know and analyze the most important environmental factors that act as important agents in the balance of sexual and reproductive rights of women.

It supports the importance of creating spaces for the public debate, mainly to put under discussion and draw out the ways in which sexuality and reproduction are related to religious-ethical issues.

Through the dissemination and sharing of existing multiplicity of voices aims to contribute to critical reflection on current social and cultural patterns. Thus, the research area proposes to promote discussions on sexuality, gender and religion through research activities and dissemination of research outputs.

One of its projects is carrying out the production, creation and editing of the Religion, Gender and Sexuality Collection.
